Man asked children in park to get in his car

Police are investigating a report of suspicious behaviour after a man reportedly asked two children playing in a park to get into his car. Dyfed-Powys Police said they received the report about the incident which happened at Penparcau Park, Aberystwyth, on Thursday, June 13.

Officers received a report of a man driving alongside two children in the park at around 7.50pm and asking them to get in his car. The children then called a parent who reported the incident to the police.

The man, who was driving a black car, is believed to have driven up Third Avenue and into Heol y Wern. A force spokesman said residents in Penparcau will notice an increased police presence in the area over the coming days as officers continue their inquiries.

Full list of supermarket sandwiches recalled over E.coli outbreak

eople are being urged not to eat thousands of supermarket sandwiches and wraps after two suppliers recalled them over E.coli fears. Greencore Group, which supplies several major supermarkets, said the decision to recall the items was a "precautionary measure" but customers are being asked not to eat the products and instead return them. Samworth Brothers Manton Wood, which supplies Tesco and One Stop, also announced a precautionary recall.

There have been outbreaks of the E.coli across the UK in recent weeks. In Wales at least nine people were hospitalised after contracting it. Public Health Wales confirmed that there were not geographical clusters and the cases were thought to be across the whole country. You can read more about that here.

Palace releases new statement on Kate's health progress

Palace releases new statement on Kate's health progressKensington Palace has issued a fresh health update regarding Kate Middleton and her cancer treatment. The Princess of Wales revealed in March 2024 that she was undergoing treatment for cancer following abdominal surgery.

A statement released this evening (June 14), which was a 'personal message' from Kate, 42, said that she was 'making good progress' and felt buoyed by the support she had received from members of the public. She said she would also take part in the Trooping the Colour to celebrate the King's official birthday this weekend.

A Palace source said she is "doing well" and “very much looking forward to being with her family” during the King’s birthday parade on Saturday, where she is expected to appear on Buckingham Palace balcony. Kate, who is the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, had earlier written to them to apologise for missing it and wishing them luck.

But Kate did admit to struggling on certain days and that she is 'not out of the woods yet'. Details of the cancer have not been disclosed, but Kensington Palace said earlier in the year that it was confident the princess will make a full recovery.

We had guessed it by just stepping outside, but BBC weather presenter Derek Brockway has cofirmed that our summer has gone AWOL.

He does give us some hope of high pressure towards the end of June. Everything crossed.

Our summer has gone AWOL! The UK on the cool side of the Jet Stream with low pressure. Breezy this weekend with sunny intervals and heavy showers. Sunday drier and sunnier. Next week drier and slightly warmer. Then more unsettled but signs of high pressure late June into July. pic.twitter.com/4YeFpEpXNR

Poll shows Reform UK ahead of Conservatives

Rishi Sunak has insisted that voting for Reform UK would be "handing Labour a blank cheque" as he played down a major opinion poll showing Nigel Farage's party overtaking the Conservatives.

The Prime Minister predicted a comeback as he stressed "we are only halfway through this election" and the choice between the Tories and Labour will "crystallise for people between now and polling day".

It came after Reform UK leader Mr Farage claimed his party was now "the opposition to Labour" and flipped the Conservative campaign rhetoric by saying a vote for the Tories is a vote for Labour.

A YouGov survey commissioned by the Times newspaper had Mr Farage's party at 19% and the Conservatives on 18% in voting intention, in a crossover moment which is the latest blow to Tory hopes of returning to government.
