Stove-Top Macaroni N Cheese is a super quick, super easy and super creamy pasta dish made with elbow macaroni, butter, flour, milk, sharp cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese with a bit of garlic and mustard powder.
Macaroni and cheese has been one of my favorite (if not my #1) foods since childhood. Any type! I even love the boxed stuff with questionable cheese powder. It is all just so darn delicious and a dish that instantly brings comfort. My own kids happen to also love macaroni and cheese so this dish is a big deal in my home and we make it all sorts of ways just to switch it up a bit.

Stove-Top Macaroni N Cheese
Stove-Top Macaroni N Cheese is super thick and creamy with a hint of garlic and mustard coming through. This version also uses two types of cheese. Parmesan and sharp cheddar. Parmesan adds a little nutty bite while the sharp cheddar melts well and provides that great creaminess.
Can You Use Different Cheeses?
Yes! You can and I invite you to try all different types of cheese combinations to find your perfect pair. Mild cheddar, Gouda, Gruyere, Monterey Jack…. the possibilities go on and on. Just make sure to pick a cheese that can melt well. Also note that more aged cheeses may have a grittier taste and taste less creamy than say a mild cheddar. Cream cheese and cottage cheese are also good ingredients to try!
